Pottering & Playing

During the autumn my love of all things handmade extended to something I hadn't tried before, pottery!

I was lucky enough to attend a pottery course at the local art centre, taught by the very talented ceramicist Wendy Tournay. It was a very last minute decision as a friend offered me her place due to being unable to attend. I jumped at the opportunity and spent the next 10 Thursday mornings in the company of some very talented potters, learning & enjoying a new skill.

I now have a bunch of wonky mugs, pincher pots and a plant hanger. It felt a little bit like bringing home your school artwork to your mum! But it was a fantastic chance to get my hands dirty and enjoy the making process without the pressure or mindset of 'making to sell'.

The lovely ladies that attend and have real potter skills let me bring my camera in and capture a few of them at work in the studio.
