a handmade christmas & a happy new year
I hope you had a wonderful christmas break and feel rested and ready for the year ahead.
I wanted to share a few photos from our christmas holiday, which was a combination of frosty walks and family time, as well as all the preparations that go into the big day.
I was keen to give as many homemade gifts this year as I could and enjoyed the making process very much. I learnt lots too - the main thing being how simple most of them were to make in the first place (and how much nicer they were to give than bought ones!).
I got a lot of my inspiration from Pinterest and have included some of the links below for you to try out yourself ... if you wish!
A large branch and some foraging in the woods made up our rather large, unrefined wreath this year.
These hanging planters were some of the results of the pottery course I took (and loved) over the autumn. A gift to my sister & mum and one for me!
One or two family members received a pair of these. And despite attempting to have a break from the knitting needles, Anouk got a new pompom hat!
Jemimah made some clay decorations this year for the tree and gave us all one each with our names printed on as gifts - so sweet!
Anouk's favourite things about Christmas to hang on the tree...
... frosty walks in the winter sun has got to be up there as one of my favourite things to do at Christmas.. it's the only thing that's left when you've eaten your weight in cheese & chocolates!
Welcoming in 2017 by candle light.
Well done if you got this far through the blog! I do like having it all on here for when I'm looking back ...
That's all for now! Carolyn X
