Charleston House
I wanted to share just some of the photos I took during our visit to Charleston House at the start of August. I took so many and didn’t want them to just disappear deep into the cloud!
Charleston House was the home of artists Vanessa Bell & Duncan Grant, aka The Bloomsbury Group. They lived and worked here from the 1930’s through to their deaths in the 1960’s and 70’s, living as a rather unconventional family, ahead of their time in both their art and way of living and thinking.
After reading ‘Living in Squares’ I was keen to visit and see the beautiful home and studio “where art and experimental thinking were at the centre of everyday life.”
It really was an incredibly inspirational place. I hope to visit again some day.
You can purchase one of the images I took on colour film during my visit to Charleston House.
