Kettles Yard

Kettles Yard - Carolyn Carter Blog

It has long been on my 'places to visit' list and so on our return journey from Suffolk during half term, we made a stop over in Cambridge and visited the very inspirational home of art curator Jim Ede & his wife Helen.

The house is as the couple left it and there is something to see in every corner of the room. Paintings displayed at ground level so that even when you're sitting down there is something to look at. Originally 4 small cottages it was converted into a large, open plan house  that could display their collections as well as open it up to visitors & students and even host concerts in!

The house is now part of the Kettles Yard gallery and is free to visit on a timed entry ticket.

Here are a few pictures to entice you there...

Afterwards we took a stroll round the streets of Cambridge ... and decided it's really a rather pleasant and charming place to visit. We hope we can return again soon!
